Financial Literacy, Rationality, and Social Control in Consumptive Students Institut Pendidikan Indonesia Abstract Consumptive behaviors among teenage students have become common. This study was conducted using a quantitative approach. The purpose was to examine financial literacy, rationality and social control in 75 consumptive students. It was revealed that consumptive behaviors were partially influenced by financial literacy, rationality and social control. As an intervening variable, financial literacy had influence on student consumptive behaviors via rationality and social control. The higher the rationality and the social control, the lower the consumptive behaviors. This implies that students with a good rationality and social control are likely to know how to prioritize their needs.
